Essentials of Buddhism

Buddhism is some 2,500 years old; there are 350 million people worldwide who follow this religion. Buddhists believe that to be enlightened one must practice meditation and wisdom. Like Hindus Buddhist do not believe in creator God even they do not have any individual faith on God still they are tolerant to all religion according to them every thing in this world is subject to change and nothing is static. Buddhist tradition is highly spiritual it primarily aims on spiritual development of mind and soul.

The Basic Essentials of Buddhism
:

Four Noble Truths:

Life is suffering: Life is suffering this suffering starts from birth and ends with death. In our life we continuously suffer of many physical pain, sickness, injury, tiredness, old age and ultimately death. Even we undergo many mental sufferings as grief, frustration, depression and disappointment.
Suffering has cause: There is a cause behind every suffering and this cause is the attachment towards material things that surround us we suffer when we strive for physical things that surround us.
Termination of Suffering is within reach : Sufferings could be stopped through Nirodha. Nirodha implies end of continuous desire towards material things.

Path to End Suffering: Every suffering has an end one can terminate his suffering by following the path of gradual self-improvement or by following the eight fold path.
The Eight Fold Paths:

  • Right Action
  • Right Thought
  • Right Speech
  • Right View
  • Right Livelihood
  • Right Mindfulness
  • Right Effort
  • Right meditation
