The Buddhist religion arose during fifth century BCE in the subcontinent of India. Buddhist Teachings basically focuses on the teachings of Gautam Buddha. During his days of Enlightenment Buddha found answers of his questions as three great truths these were:

Nothing is lost in the universe
Everything changes
If there is a cause there will be an effect

In his teachings Buddha gave more stress on the four Noble Truths and on the Eight Fold Paths. All Buddhist teachings are based on Four Noble Truths discussed in Theravada these are also called the Four Bodhisattva Vows.

Life is suffering
The sufferings has cause
There is no suffering if there is no cause
Follow the proper path to eliminate suffering.
