The whole concept of drinking tea originated from oriental countries. According to Chinese legend tea was discovered by Shen Nong in 3000 B.C. It is believed that tea leaves fell into a bowl of hot water which the Emperor was drinking. Shen Nong loved the taste of the brew and it became quite popular. The oriental people have been drinking tea for centuries. The Japanese even have an entire ceremony based around drinking tea. It is known as the Tea Ceremony. The oriental tea sets do not have creamers or milk jugs. Oriental people drink their tea without milk and preferably without sugar. The tea cups do not have handles. They resemble small shallow bowls. The rims of the bowls are held between the fingertips and the tea is sipped from them. Oriental tea pots are decorated in symbols and typical oriental designs.
