Engraved mugs are those mugs that have the designs engraved on them. They can be made of porcelain or pottery. Pottery mugs are made on a potter's wheel and then designs are engraved on them while they are still wet. The impressions can be made by anything starting from a rope, stick, coins or even finger nails. In certain schools of pottery the engravings are made after the mugs have dried completely. After engraving them with a design they are enameled or glazed to give them a glossy look. The names of people, places, phrases or other logos can be engraved on the mugs.
