India is a land of art and craft. Numerous art forms and craftsmen have flourished here from time immemorial.One of the most well-known types of art work from India is the beautiful craft of sculpting brass. Brass sculptures and statues from India adorn many a home, office, hotel and restaurant.



These brass handicrafts are created with a combination of skill, diligence and imagination. The most popular subjects with brass sculptors are

  • Animal figures: Brass sculptures of stallions, horses, camels, elephants, antelopes, deer, dolphins and other animals are admirable.
  • Bird figures: Brass sculptures of peacocks, parrots, gulls, eagles, magpies, ducks, swans, owls, geese, hens, roosters are also created.
  • Religious figures: Characters from mythology have always been popular with sculptors. Brass statues of Hindu gods and goddesses , including Ganesha statues , sculptures of Lord Shiva , Goddess Saraswati, Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Durga , Goddess Kali ,Lord Vishnu and Hanuman, are perhaps the most crafted subjects in brass.
